And since the BMW dealer and Benz dealer share ownership, my dad’s loaner is this bare bones CLA250 rather than the !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . I’m not around to drive it, but here’s what he sent me:
“I like the little Mercedes. It is a fairly basic one, but it’s bigger inside than I would have thought and is fun to drive.”
Let your pitchforks fly.

I’ll pitchfork, but only because of the “park by feel” parking

I have a CLA AMG to sell him

I’d rather be driving a _______.

It’s a low curb, even my car clears it.

He must not like mufflers. Does he park so far over the curb when he parks front-end in? If so, he must also hate air dams.

I honestly haven’t noticed before.

No pitchforks here.

I use curbs like this, too. The butt end of my FoST is much higher than the nose end. Pulling in forward risks damaging the bumper, while backing in you can see the curb in the camera and if it is short enough you just feel for it.
I haven’t hit an exhaust pipe in many years (when I was very new to driving).

I could see myself owning one in the next three years when they get into the sub €15k price range.
There, I said it.

It’s ok, it’s still Jalop if it involves depreciation.

I know too many people who use curbs this way when parking both front and back end in first. For low cars the issue is dragging parts. For high cars and trucks, the bigger annoyance is crowding the sidewalk. If the sidewalk is wide like in the picture, it’s not a big deal. But when the sidewalk is narrow, it creates a single-lane path along the sidewalk. This is especially bad when long-bed trucks are backed in to the tires.
Sure, I can walk on the grass, but I’m thinking of my buddy’s son who is stuck in a wheelchair.

That’s my biggest pet peeve, people who block sidewalks.
It’s just extremely easy not to block a sidewalk. And yet basically everyday I encounter some asshole who is either too lazy or too dumb to understand the concept of not blocking sidewalks.

In my defense, my world is small and rural at this point. I don’t really have anywhere I frequent that this would cause issues for sidewalk users, mostly because they don’t exist and in the cases where they do we have parking blocks. I also prefer wide parallel spots, use my camera to back into spots, and tend to park far from buildings in protected spots for the safety of my car...

Yeah I can see where it might be a bit of a letdown next to an S600 or LS.

But seriously. Anemic engine that they try to pitch as sporty, interior materials on par with my old accord, dodgy styling, and bad build quality. I love the new C300/E300, I’ve had them both as loaners, but my dealer doesn’t even give out CLAs as loaners.
